Healing Waters Trauma Recovery Home

Our Mission
Healing Waters Trauma Recovery Home exists to empower adolescent girls to establish and maintain freedom from the bondage of sex trafficking by providing holistic therapeutic services that promote spiritual, physical, emotional, social and intellectual restoration.

About Us
Healing Waters is a long term (1-3 years) residential trauma recovery program for adolescent girls (ages 11-17). Our treatment home will address the holistic needs of young women suffering the devastating effects of commercial sexual exploitation (domestic minor sex trafficking). This unique program will be housed in a 20-bed residential facility located on twenty acres of secluded, serene, tree speckled desert land, conducive to introspection, reflection, and restoration. Since 2003, Living Waters has successfully treated adolescent and adult women with the effects of life-controlling challenges such as sexual abuse, incest, rape, sex trafficking victimization, depression, anxiety, addictions and self-injury. We will offer a residential trauma recovery program that incorporates spirituality, education, medical assessment and monitoring, and a variety of active therapeutic treatment approaches.

Treatment Approach
Our holistic approach to healing draws from an individualized, comprehensive teen-focused model to facilitate for our residents' physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, educational, and social success.
Our multidisciplinary team of highly qualified, caring and compassionate professionals is comprised of a board certified psychiatrist, 4 licensed psychotherapists (including art/music/dance therapist, equine therapist, 2 individual therapists), a registered dietician, a certified fitness trainer, a Restoration Coach, and a team of dedicated pre-screened volunteer mentors.

Prior to admission, each resident will be screened and assessed for her appropriateness for our program and for her commitment to her personal healing process. Once accepted into our program, our licensed clinical therapist will conduct a thorough comprehensive assessment to identify specific areas of concern. A treatment plan is developed with input from the interdisciplinary team to address every facet of the resident's journey to wholeness.

We utilize unconventional therapeutic techniques to address the unique needs of our residents. Our long term (1-3 years)program is designed to walk each resident through the healing process by providing a supportive environment that encourages and promotes long term success. Each component of our five-phase program allows each resident adequate time and tools to uncover the truth about themselves, about God, about their trauma and about their bright future.

Program Overview
The Healing Waters program is comprised of five therapeutic phases leading to holistic transformation. Each resident is required to progress successfully through each of the phases in order to proceed to graduation from HWTRH. The following is an overview of the program phases and the progressive evidentiary elements required to matriculate through each phase. The interdisciplinary team with input from the resident will assess the resident’s progress and readiness to advance to the next treatment phase based on specified evidence of progress.

Phase I: Isha Value: The Value of a Woman©
A biblically-based didactic group facilitated by a caring, compassionate human service professional designed to teach our residents the truth about who God says they are. Shame, regret, fear and self-recrimination are dispelled as a result of this intensive spiritually focused series.

Phase II: Dismantling Negative Generational Patterns
Group series of that encourages residents to explore family of origin patterns in order to uncover the cycles perpetuated in their specific families. Each teen is required to complete a genogram (family tree) which assists them in gaining insight into their own emotional, mental, spiritual, biological and social challenges as they relate to their family history.

Phase III: My Healing Journey
A series of intensive process groups focused on guiding teens through complete recovery from significant trauma. The group will explore the interrelationship between their addictive behaviors, their primary trauma from their family of origin and their mental health and relationship challenges. Each resident is required to complete the Beyond Trauma book and workbook outlining the hurt and disappointments from their earlier childhood and complete exercises that help to heal unresolved pain.

Phase IV: Sexuality and Spirituality
A group focused on intensive exploration of the role sexuality plays in the spiritual lives of our teens. Each resident is encouraged to explore the attitudes around sexuality in her family, in her peer relationships and in her community. Teens are educated on the intimate connection spirituality has with sexuality. Sexual freedom is explored in the context of healthy, spiritually mature choices and the resolution of sexually compulsive behaviors.

Phase V: Creating and Maintaining Healthy Lifestyles
An intensive life skills series designed to develop and execute concrete goals, objectives and support systems for the teen during and after transition into the community. Each teen, along with the interdisciplinary team develop a transition plan to assist in creating a stable, healthy, self-sustaining life outside of the program.
